A Delhi-Gurgaon based company is now enabling around 12 municipal bodies and several community kitchen organisers turn waste into energy through their technology that has been developed in a joint initiative with Belgium headquartered company VITO. Municipal bodies of Delhi, Mumbai, Telengana and Andhra Pradesh are in active talks to implement this technology shortly.
This technology created by Ion Exchange Private Limited allows treating around 1,000 kg of organic kitchen waste and 2-6 cubic metre of sewage sludge every day generating electrical power worth 20 kilo watt and 1.35 tons of organic fertilizer respectively as per recent report of the Economic Times.
