In order to support the large and talented ecosystem of startups by tech professionals within the state, the government will welcome the establishment of the dedicated startup cell where it aims to promote the Silicon Valley of India as the ultimate startup destination in the world.

Privileges to be given

The innovators will get an opportunity to connect with the world-class mentors and the winning startup can access government grants. The naive entrepreneurs will have the chance to participate in knowledge sessions where they can validate their idea from experts. These innovators will be given stalls where they can demo their idea to the business experts and can also strengthen their networks with the technology experts and VCs.

Multicity dates of the event

Keeping in mind the presence of innovators, the authorities had put up multi-city pitch dates whereas the event will be first held in Mysuru and Hubballi on July 30th-July 31st. After this, the event will show its presence in Mangaluru and Kalaburagi on August 2nd-August 3rd and lastly in Bengaluru on August 6th-August 9th.

Who can apply?

To get yourself on record, the innovators must have a tech-based idea or solution and should be registered as an entity ( Pvt Ltd/OPC, LLP/Partnership, Proprietorship) in Karnataka. Since it is an event organised for naive entrepreneurs so the total revenue generated by an organisation in terms of turnover should be less than INR 50 Crores with minimum 50 per cent of the qualified workforce should be employed in Karnataka.

The startups shouldn’t have crossed four years from the date of incorporation for technology-based (IT/ ITES, ESDM, AVGC, Med-Tech & Non-Biotech) and seven years for biotechnology-based companies as on August 31st.

Startups that have already been winners of Idea2PoC Grant Scheme or have received any government grants from the department of IT-BT or Karnataka government aren’t eligible to apply.
