Currently, over 300 wireless charging units are deployed across more than 100 Cafe Coffee Day stores.
To turn customer experience up a notch higher, Cafe Coffee Day installed wireless charging points across more than 100 stores in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. Customers who have Qi-enabaled smartphones can charge their phones by simply placing them on the charging pods integrated on the tables.
Wireless charging partnership
Cafe Coffee Day has partnered with PowerSquare to deploy the wireless charging network across their locations. As of now, over 300 wireless charging spots are installed across the 100+ stores. This initiative follows the roll-out of free Wi-Fi across several cafes in the country. Identifying the heavy usage of smartphones among the new generation that include their major customer base, and the quick drain of battery charge, these charging points have been deployed. The charging pods, embedded on table surfaces, use Qi technology to transfer charge to the smartphone placed on them.
Pavan Pudipeddi, CEO, PowerSquare and one of the founding members of the Wireless Power Consortium (USA) commented,“Our vision is to enable consumers in India to charge their smartphones anywhere and anytime without having to carry a charger.”
Venu Madhav, CEO, Café Coffee Day said , “From introducing high speed Wi-Fi at many of our cafes to being the first to try out digitized tables, Café Coffee Day has always believed in investing in digital technology to enhance in-café experience for our young customers.”
Soon, the wireless charging facility will be expanded across cafes in other cities including Hyderabad, Pune, among others. Availability of the facility and compatibility of smartphones with Qi charging can be checked out at PowerSquare’s website.
